SnapNutrition AI ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use our free AI calorie tracker mobile application.

Information We Collect

SnapNutrition AI is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require account registration or login.

Data stored locally on your device:

• Food scan history and meal logs
• Daily calorie goals and preferences
• App settings (language, measurement units)
• Your AI API keys (stored securely in device keychain)

Data Processing

When you scan food using the app, the following occurs:

• Images or text descriptions of food are sent directly to third-party AI service providers (Anthropic or OpenAI, depending on your configuration) for nutritional analysis
• This data is transmitted directly from your device to the AI provider using your personal API key
• We do not have access to this data, as it does not pass through our servers

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services for AI-powered food analysis:

• Anthropic (Claude) - Privacy Policy
• OpenAI - Privacy Policy

Your use of these services is subject to their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, your app data (food logs, goals, and settings) may be synced across your Apple devices using your personal iCloud account. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud service and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data We Do Not Collect

We want to be clear about what we do NOT collect:

• We do not collect personal identification information
• We do not require account creation or login
• We do not have backend servers that store your data
• We do not collect analytics or usage data
• We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties (except as described above for AI analysis)
• We do not use cookies or tracking technologies

Data Security

Your data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard secure storage mechanisms. API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption. All communications with AI service providers are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device and/or in your personal iCloud account. You can delete your data at any time by:

• Deleting individual food entries within the app
• Clearing all app data through iOS Settings
• Uninstalling the app

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
